Welcome to Freesoul Adults

Hey, how are you doing?

WELCOME TO YOUR CREATIVE EVOLUTION/REVOLUTION!

Welcome to your own creative evolution/revolution – a 2 hour open studio where you’re invited to create whatever your being needs to say using paint and mixed media on cotton canvas you can take home. No experience needed. No right or wrong. Just you, the materials, and the energy of others doing the same to brilliant tunes with a glass of wine.

This is not a paint-by-numbers night. It’s the antithesis of “sip and paint” – no step-by-step instructions, no pressure to perform, and no rules about what’s “good.”

Instead, this is a sanctuary for adults who are craving freedom, expression, and authentic loving connection, with themselves and others.

I will be facilitating as your host and always happy to help guide you in creating your image should you need me. I’m a qualified teacher of art, so if you are curious to play with a skill or concept, please don’t hesitate to pick my brains.

A wonderful start to the Friday evening 2 hour open workshop Creative Evolution Group on the 16th August. So much was shared with so much joy, depth, laughter and authenticity. Not only did we have people of many ages from 11 to 43 all working, creating and sharing side by side but we had a beautiful play with UV paints.

Freesoularts is waiting for you. Your beautiful imagination, playfulness and unique presence!

Our group beautifully and sensitvely responded to eachother through text below each piece at the end of the session. The dark face in the first image really got the group thinking. The comments read: “Angel of the North”, “Gentle Monster, looming over, seeking connection”. The middle picture elicited comments such as ” a series of memories”, “trapped in a rainbod prison”, “embelished prison, yet fiery”

The beauty of commentary, of poetry or response to the visual never ceases to suprise and touch me. Thank you all 🙂

Exploring birdsong, connection to nature… peace.

Exploring the wonder of being a kid and watching stars.

Exploring the storms we navigate and the boats we find to carry us.

The studio is located in Overbury Yard. Overbury Yard is Harringay Warehouse District’s newest space, a creative community within London’s most unique creative community. All the studios are housed in containers in a friendly artistic community.

So, what happens here? What can you expect?

A small, nurturing studio space where you can work solo or collaborate freely. (The studio holds room for 6 people)

Paint, charcoal, paper, fabric scraps, glue, canvas, (limited used of inks) – these materials are provided. But please bring your own found materials or arts materials that speak to you. …if you wanna bring a pair of old holey socks, bring them, if you wanna bring..whatever helps you evolve and express…bring it!

Freedom to explore your inner landscapes through colour, texture, form…through text, annotation and dialogue with others should you wish it. Conversations are encouraged. So is a good laugh and a feeling of connection.

Space for sharing – observations, reflections, or simply being witnessed in your process.

A warm, accepting community of individuals on a journey of creative self-discovery and fun.

A glass of white wine to welcome you in. Bring water with you as it helps to keep hydrated creating over a 2 hour stretch.

I’m putting this vid and pics of me doing me, because creating freely makes me feel great. Creating with not a care for what the world may think. If this speaks to you, come and join.

On the way to the studio, I saw a keyboard. I thought, “great, Im gonna use that, likely, I’ll break it, coz I resent how much tech is overused these days. I think many feel the same…too much too fast and all that jazz…I wish we lived in a world filled with more human connection and less wifi connection;) …so yeah I’ll use that as a theme to untether my being from tech in some form”. I also got gifted flowers today for free by a wedding planner I met aournd the block, I was touched at her kindness and beautiful smile. She gave me many vibrant sweet smelling flowers but this little red one reminded me that beauty really is in the small things, the pure places. And here is what happened in my own mini evolution/revolution open studio time.

Enough tech, more REAL CONNECTION, hello flower, thank you for taking the time to grow

This vid is of a response I had asked for to my creation. The workshops can facilitate dialogue and exchange written or verbal. You dont have to bounce off anyone but also…you can! :A warm, accepting community of individuals on a journey of creative self-discovery.

This is about untethering. It could be a soft or brutal rebellion against constraint, depending on what you need. It could also be a permission slip to meet yourself through art – with curiosity, courage, fear, rage, joy and everything in between. It can be a space for joyful liberation, fun and exploration. Think, feel being free, its really all about you just you being and doing you freely.

Let go. Be messy. Be tidy. Be bold. Be quiet. Be loud.

JUST BE YOU!

I’m looking forward to meeting you,

Love,

Joy
